By car:If you live a few hours from the city, the easiest way to visit us is by car. From the Cafetal-Mahahual highway entrance, it takes about 40 minutes to reach the lighthouse. We recommend a car for ease of travel and for visiting interesting places such as Mayan archaeological sites, parks, natural attractions, Tulum, Belize, Bacalar and its stromatolites, and much more.
The distance between Tulum and Mahahual is approximately 221 kilometers by road, and the estimated travel time by car is around 2 hours and 38 minutes.
By car: Drive south from Tulum on Highway 307 until you reach Mahahual. This route will take you through the jungle and along the coast, offering beautiful views of the Caribbean.
Bus: You can take a bus from theADO Tulum Bus Terminal toLimones (Cancun). Then, take another bus from Limones to the Mahahual Center in Chetumal. There is also a direct shuttle bus service from the ADO Tulum Bus Terminal to Mahahual in Cancun. Tulum International Airport (TQO) receives daily domestic and international arrivals. If your departure destination is this airport terminal, then your options to get to Blue Kay Eco Resort will be the following:
Bus: You can take a bus from the ADO Tulum Bus Terminal to Limones, Cancun. Then, take another bus from Limones to Mahahual Centro, Chetumal. class="ql-align-justify">
Taxi: Another option is to take a taxi, which would take around 2 hours and 13 minutes.
Van: Take a taxi to the old ADO bus terminal in Chetumal and from there take a van to Mahahual.
Car: If you prefer to drive, the distance is 141.7 km and the estimated time is 2 hours and 13 minutes.
By car: Drive from Chetumal Airport to Mahahual. The distance is the same, 140.2 km.
Shuttle bus: You can also opt for a shuttle bus from Chetumal Airport to Mahahual. The travel time is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.
ADO Bus: Travel time: Approximately 6 hours and 40 minutes.
Route: Take the bus from the ADO Bus Terminal Cancun to Limones. Then, take another bus from Limones to downtown Mahahual. More economical option: Bus via Playa del Carmen (7 hours and 19 minutes). Take the bus from Av. López Portillo – El Tortugo to Río Secreto, then from Río Secreto to Limones, and finally from Limones to downtown Mahahual. By car: Travel time: Approximately 5 hours and 29 minutes. Distance: 353.5 km.
TheCancun International Airport (CUN) receives daily visitors from within the republic from Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Tijuana or Los Cabos to mention some, as well as North America, South America and Europe. If your departure point is this airport terminal, then your options to get to Blue Kay Eco Resort will be the following: By Bus: Take the bus from Cancun International Airport Terminal 2 to Playa del Carmen Tourist Terminal. Then, take another bus from Playa del Carmen Tourist Terminal to Limones. Finally, take a bus from Limones to downtown Mahahual. Approximate trip duration: 7 hours and 5 minutes.
Due to its proximity, we recommend arriving at Chetumal Airport if you only wish to travel to Mahahual, Bacalar, and the Chacchoben ruins. If you wish to visit Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, or any natural attraction or park north of Mahahual, we recommend arriving at Cancun Airport.
